Flower Template and Embellishment

For our post today we are showing our flower template and embellishment. This cute combo can be used to create greeting cards.

You can use the template to paint a flower picture to hang in your house or give as a gift. The embellishment you can hot glue them together and use them for many things.  I hot glued two flower embellishments and used them on the outside top corners of my closet.  With this template and embellishment you can create many crafts.  Continue to check out our blog as we continue to post new things. I Love You Wall Plaque

Welcome back friends! Let's jump right on in with today's project. Today I have a project made using our flower template.

Ready to see how it was made?

 I started by layering patterned paper on a 6 inch plaque. Then, using the flower template, I cut out individual flower petals from two different designs of patterned paper. Then I simply layered the flower petals around the outer edge of the plaque.

Next, I added a bit of ribbon.  Don't worry that the circle of ribbon is not perfectly round.  It will be covered with all sorts of embellishments later.

Next, I curled the edges of all the flower petals.  This as a quick process. I just took a dowel rod and curled the edges of the paper around it for a few seconds.

Lastly, I added on lots of flowers, lots of bling, mini playing cards, a butterfly, and a heart.

A beautiful project just ready for giving as a gift or to keep and brighten your own home.

Introducing The JnW Crafts Design Team!

Today is an exciting day for JnW Crafts as we get to announce our first ever Design Team. We have a talented group of gals anxious to share their projects. So without further ado, we'll let each of the new Design Team members introduce themselves.

Pia Astrand

Hello! My name is Pia Åstrand and I come from Halmstad, Sweden. I've been married for 16 years this fall and we have two boys the are 9 and 12. I´m very honoured to be one of the first DT for JnW crafts. I've been crafting all my life and found scrapbooking in 2007 when a local scrapbooking store opened where I live. Lately I have been exploring all kinds of mixed media and like to try out new techniques and mediums. I also love to draw and doodle on my projects. Here is my blog Pias Doodling.

Bev Code

I was new to online scrapping since Apr 2009. There are so many sites. My name is Bev Code and I have been scrapping about 5 years. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my heart's content. I love scrapbooking along with fun things it entails with online friends, forums and FB. The learning process has been interesting and creative also. Other crafts I love also are needlepoint, sewing, knitting, crochet and taking lots of photos. Family and friends are the subjects of my scrapping along with nature, ancestry and vacation sites. Rocket Ship Template and Embellishment

Today’s template and embellishment is a cute rocket ship.  This template would be great for making a cute birthday card for a boy or even to use it in a boy’s room.

Blast Off!

It's time to share another creation from one of our Guest Design Team members.  This adorable card was created by Candy Spiegel using our rocket ship template. And what a creative use of the template. Candy used the template as an embellishment on the card itself.

The template itself was painted with Distress Ink and water. The inside of the template was colored with a Sharpie. We just love seeing the wood grain through the paint!

This would make a perfect card for a child's birthday.

Coffee Mug Template and Embellishment

Today we are keeping with the kitchen theme with our coffee mug template and embellishment. This adorable combo would be perfect to use to create something for that someone in your life who is a coffee addict.

A project idea that I had was making an apron and using the template to make an applique iron-on to put on the apron for the coffee addict in my life. Glass Jar Template and Embellishment

Today we are showing off our glass jar template and embellishment. I think this combo is absolutely cute. When I first saw this combo the first thing it reminded me of was the old days of canning jellies and preserves.

What do you think, does it remind you of your childhood seeing grandparents using them or even your own parents? This template and embellishment combo could be used to create something cute for that person in your life that loves to cook or create something cute for your kitchen. Lightening Bug Card

 One of the fun things that happen during the summer is the lightening bugs come out in full force.  It's a beautiful sight to see a field with their blinking bodies. This is was the inspiration behind the project we have for you today, which was created with our glass jar template. I'll let the talented Dana explain her process to you in her own words.

Hi! Dana Tater here today sharing a card that I created with the JnW Crafts Wood Mason Jar Embellishment. My girls have a blast trying to catch lightning bugs just after dark. When I saw the JnW Crafts jar embellishment, I immediately thought of them running and laughing through the yard with their friends, chasing flashes of light. I designed this card after a similar card created by the mega talented Andrea Budjack.

I colored the wood with Gelatos, using just a tiny bit of water and my finger to blend the color for a transparent glass look. I used a black marker to add some detail and to color the top of the jar. I used gold embossing powder and a stamp to add the lightning bug to the jar. I then seal the top of the embellishment with glaze.

More Butterflies

Keeping with our butterfly theme this week, we're showing off our second butterfly template. 

Just as cute as the last butterfly template we shared, yet this one shows the full butterfly shape. How pretty would it be to use both butterflies together for a wonderful effect? And keep in mind that all of our templates and embellishments come in wood or acrylic. Having different mediums allows for more texture on any project you create.

Butterfly Template

Keeping in the theme of butterflies this week, I thought we'd take a closer look at the butterfly template and embellishment. 

Can you picture a layout covered with butterflies made from the template? Each one made with different colors and patterned papers. And if you adhere two of the butterflies together, you'll have a full butterfly which can add even more dimension to a page.

So many wonderful ways to use the template and the embellishment!

Double Duty Butterfly

Are you ready for another cool way to use our products? Well today I have an idea straight from one of the company co-owners. 

Many of our designs are purposefully made so they can pull double duty on your projects. Personally, I am more apt to stock up on multi-purpose products than I am to buy what I call one-hit wonders, or products that serve only purpose. More bang for the buck, right?

Well guess what? Our butterfly template and embellishment fit that niche perfectly!  Keep reading, and I'll show you why.

Of course the obvious first use is just as the template is labeled - a butterfly. To start, the black was colored on the wings and body with a Sharpie. The remainder of the butterfly was colored with oil pastels. Then the piece was heated, which allowed the color to soak into the wood. 

Now, on to the super cool use of the butterfly. Simply turn the piece over to the back so now what was the front is now the back and what was the top is now the bottom.  And guess what? You now have a really fun fish shape! Ingenious (in my opinion).  The back was colored the same way as the front with a Sharpie and oil pastels.

Of course, this is just using the embellishment.  The template will allow you to create an endless amount of butterflies (or fish) for any type of project.

Balloons Away

Ready to see some of our awesome products? Over the next few days we'll be showing them off so you can get a close look at them individually.

Today we're showing off our balloon template and embellishment.  It's the perfect design for a birthday card or layout. Ink it, paint it, cover it with patterned paper. No matter what, it's simply a cute design.
